Brief Description of the
Tropical Amazon Forests
of Yapacaní, Bolivia

LOCATION

In the plains of Bolivia, close to Santa Rosa and the banks of the Yapacaní River. Four hours of auto travel from the department capital, Santa Cruz

EXTENSION

23000 HECTARES

APPRECIATION AT FIRST SIGHT

Intact jungle, a trail winding through the zone, two lakes measuring 100 and 200 hectares, situated within the forests. The zone is enclosed by two large rivers. The Caoba tree reserve has been exterminated for a long time. The zone is uninhabited, because as of yet there are no economical opportunities.

ACCESS

There is an asphalt road for 60 km, and another for 50km, a torn apart railroad embankment, all are accessible the whole year. There are railroad tracks that are currently not in use, but are in good shape and eventually could be used for travel. Exclusive rights to these tracks could be negotiated, and the railway extends 108km. The Yapacaní River is navigable all year and is connected and runs into the Amazon. There are also two other navigable rivers during the rainy season.

PERIPHERY

To the north, protected forest reserves. To the south, soy and rice crop farms, and scarce amount of population.

INVESTMENT

Around $ US 60 per share. To buy Brazilian owned shares the cost is $ US 700.

MARKET PRICE

Price comparisons have established that the asking price by the sellers is correct, and that the total property value is in the order of $ US 1.4 Million.

NETWORTH

During the last years the prices have risen between 15 and 30% annually. They anticipate even higher rises in the properties where there are inmense biological resources. A liquidation of revenues in the short term would not be desired or possible. The investments should all be considered long term.

ORGANIZATION

Up to now all the preperatory work, has been funded by donations and private help. All costs have been minimally calculated.

ENDORSEMENT

The Ecological Organization is endorsed by AWISH- A World Institute for Sustainable Humanity, an environmental institution with headquarters in the U.S and representation in Uruguay, Bolivia, Germany, Mexico, Barbados, Australia, Costa Rica, England, Taiwan, and others.
